How to make paid member free?

There may be a use case where you want to make a paid member free while retaining their progress, levels, contributions, etc. Use cases include making a paying member an admin or moderator, allowing a paid member to be free for an off-site promotion, etc. Here's how to do it:

(A) Follow this if your group is on the Freemium Pricing model.

1. Share your group's plans page with the member. It opens up like this for the member on their end:

2. Ask them to Join/Change to the Standard plan, which is the Free plan on Freemium. For this, the member doesn't need to exit the group.

(B) Follow this if your group is on Subscription or Tiers:

1. Find the Member on the Members page who is on the paid plan. Click on Membership Settings.

2. Proceed to remove them from the group. This is a mandatory step to ensure they won't be charged again, since we are converting a paid member to a free member.

3. Once the member is removed from the group, they are moved to the Churned subtab of the Members tab. Click the Membership Settings tab to grab their email.

4. Email invite the member.

5. Once the member receives the email invite, they MUST click the JOIN NOW button and then log back in to their existing Skool account.

When the member rejoins the group, their points, levels, course progress, and contributions will resume.

It is recommended to chat with the member before hand letting them know they will be getting removed from the group briefly and asking them to check their inbox for a skool invite email.
